Sri Padmavati Temple Tirupati

Goddess Padmavati wife of Lord Venkateshwara resides in the foot hill of Tirumala. The temple of goddess Padmavathi is at a distance of 5kms from Tirupati in Tiruchanoor or Alamelumangapuram. The devotees believe that a visit to goddess Padmavathi is a must before visiting Lord Venkateshwara temple in Tirumala.

The story in the epics about the separate temple of Lord Venkateshwara and his wife Goddess Padmavathi is narrated as follows:-

"Once upon a time Goddess Padmavati or Maha Lakshmi got angry with Lord Venkateshwara due to Bhrigu Maharishi and went inside the earth or patal lok where after sometime she spent 12 years as self punishment on the bank of river Swaranamukhi". After spending such a long time she came out from the golden lotus in the form of Padmavathi. According to the Hindu calendar the day on which she came out was Karteeka month on 5th day or panchami.

Float Festival Tiruchanoor

Important festivals celebrated in Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple are Navarathri festival (Dasara), Kartheeka Brahmotsavam, Float festival, Vasanthotsavam and Rathasapthami. The other festivals  are celebrated in Sri Sundara Rajaswamivari Temple like Avatharotsavam for 3 days.

The temple has a daily program which starts at 5am in the morning. The temple program is as follows:-

Daily Programme (except on Fridays)
5:00a.m.: Suprabhatam
05:30a.m.: Sahasranama Archana and Nitya Archana
Between 07:00 am-6:30 pm and 7:30PM-9:00PM: Sarvadarsanam
Between 10:30 am-12:00 pm: Kalyanotsavam
Between 5:00 pm-6:00 pm: Unjal Seva
9:00pm: Ekanta Seva
6:30 am – 7:00 am: Ashtadala Padapadmaradhana Seva (Every Monday)

Friday Plans:
Suprabhatam (03:30a.m.), Sahasranamarchana and Nitya Archana (04:00a.m.), Abhishekam (05:00am - 06:30am), Sarvadarsanam (09:30 am-7:30 pm hrs and 8:30pm -9:30pm),
Kalyanotsavam (10:30 am -12:00 pm), Unjal Seva (6:00 pm - 7:00pm), Ekantha Seva (9:00pm)

  • Unjal Seva: Rs.116.00 (can be done by two people)
  • Unjal Seva: Rs.1,116.00 (can be done by five people)
  • Kumkumarchana: Rs.200.00
  • Special Entrance facility is available at the cost of Rs.10.00 which can be availed by one person
  • Quick Darsan facility:  Rs.20.00
  • Thiruppavada Seva (on Thursdays only from 07:00am-07:30am) at the cost of Rs.3,000.00
  • Ekantha seva: Rs.10.00
  • Gajavahana Seva: Rs.100.00
  • Garudavahana Seva (Everyday, after Kalyanotsavam): Rs.100.00
  • Abhishekam (on Fridays only): Rs.200.00
  • Nitya Archana (One year): Rs.150.00
  • Nitya Archana (Permanent): Rs.1,650.00
  • Ashtadala Padapadmaradhana Seva (performed every Monday): Rs.1500.00
  • Lakshmi Puja is done on every Friday of Telgu Sravanam month, Tamil Thaimasam and each of the Janma Nakshatram days (i.e.,Uttarashada) of Goddess Padmavathi at the cost of Rs.116.00 which permits single person.

Important Note : Advance payment can be done for sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva and other weekly sevas. The advance payment for Thiruppavada seva and prasadam can be done. All payment acceptance is subject to availability.
